What do I need?
All you need for your yoga practice is an open mind and a sense of curiosity! And, a yoga mat for your studio practice, which we would be happy to store for you. We have Manduka® yoga mats for sale as well as a handful for studio use. A chemical free yoga mat that supports your practice is an essential part of your experience!
We provide all of the equipment needed for SUP Yoga and paddle boarding activities, including VESL paddle boards, light and durable carbon-fiber paddles, leashes, life vests and anchors. For liability reasons, we do not allow students to bring their own equipment to Paddle Board Fitness activities. If you have purchased a paddle board from Portsmouth Paddle Co. and have questions on this policy please contact us.
What do I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable, athletic clothing both for on-land and on-water yoga classes. Quick-drying athletic wear or swimsuits with board shorts are perfect options for SUP Yoga. We suggest wearing light layers for sun protection and to ensure you're comfortable in the event of morning and evening temperature fluctuations. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen and to hydrate before and after class!
Help us get to know you!
Please let your instructor know of any physical injuries or limitations prior to class to ensure we are able to support you with modifications and props. We pay particular attention to safety and alignment. Everyone's needs are different and getting to know you is part of why we love our job!
We would love to help match you with the right program that meets your needs and helps you reach your fitness and wellness goals. Our classes are designed for YOU, which means that your feedback is essential. We look forward to hearing from you!
As a courtesy...
We request that you minimize perfumes and maintain personal hygiene during your practice as a courtesy to others and to ensure we are able to limit the spread of germs. If you’re feeling under the weather, we’re more than happy to help you reschedule your session or issue a class credit to be used in the future.
